I know why the caged baby does not sing.

Some of the boys' crying pictures are so amusing to me. It's probably because, at the time, they are crying over the most temporal and minor grievances. Of course, it's much much less funny at 6:45am.
For instance, Little Joel has a long history of complaining and crying about waking up. Every morning. We tell him, "Easy! Wake up slow!" and "use your words" which is just not sinking in yet.
Let's take a look at what Joel does when he isn't crying about waking up.

He takes a ride around the house. Right before I took this picture I caught him standing straight up on the seat of this bike-- on the hardwood. I think he just wanted to see if he could do it.

His newest favorite pastime-- backflips. He likes Daddy's flipping trick so much, he will try to spontaneously flip in my arms, too-- without warning!

Joel prefers to experience the sandbox rather than just play in it.

Brrrr!

This little brother is so satisfied with even a remnant of a pair of goggles!

I can't really blame him for wanting a better view!
