hot hot hot

In July we enjoyed 19 days of temps over 100 degrees and 9 days with temps in the upper 90's.  That's the kind of summer that makes a girl totally forget the disappointingly chilly spring.

As I see it, there are only two options on those days: get wet or stay inside.   We've played at the splash pads and public pools & waterparks:  the river, mountain lakes and our own yard and will have attended about 19 swim lessons! The boys have learned a lot and Trevor improves every time. I'm proud of his willingness to keep trying in this skill that doesn't not seem to come naturally to him.

I had them take net because I thought we'd see so many minnows like we did last year.  Not yet. Maybe in a few weeks.

Note Trevor's not only fighting with water balloons, but also some custom, Wieber -crafted nunchucks.

There is so much to do in the summer that I'm really not wanting this to end.  Thankfully the spring and fall are also very pleasant here.
