Yes, even though we had finally reached a point where we could ALL (even Joel) go up the chair and ride down the cat track, we switched the boys' sport. And mine. I've had a snowboard for years, but haven't really excelled in it : ) My snowboarding prowess isn't there. I isn't really cute, sick or awesome. But I do like the new challenge.
Joel is also snowboarding. Mostly because we didn't think about how hard that switch would be for him. But, he is hanging on cheerfully. As soon as we have his gloves problem dialed in, everything will go much better for him. Right now everytime he falls (which is often) there is a little part of his wrists that are bared to the cold snow, so he takes off his gloves, shakes them out, and puts them on. Joel is not someone who can ignore a teeny tiny bit of snow easily. I can't really blame him. Having all the gear dialed in makes every sport more fun.
Trevor has two more years at Bogus under his belt and is not even about to quit this difficult sport. Snowboarding is hard, I tell you. It hurts to fall, but this boy is surprising us with his determination! We are amazed. He can't yet turn and is begging Scott to go up and do some jumps with him. : )
