Whole new world

The boys are getting so good on their snowboard and skiis! We are in a whole new world of freedom on the mountain with the boys.  They can put on their own gear (mostly) and go to the bathroom by themselves and put on their own skiis and carry their own gear.  It is a dream come true.

Trevor was quite the shredder up at Bogus this week.  He amazes me with how quick he gets back up.  Last year he fell and fell and fell and just kept going all day long.  This year he continues to persist and is a safer rider with a lot of confidence.  It is a blast to ride the mountain with him.

Joel just gets it.  After the first time up this year I found a youtube video to help him learn how to change from wedge turns to parallel turns.  He watched it and it actually helped!  He can hang out with the rest of us at the same speed without needing many breaks.  He likes to find little jumps just like his brother.   He is managing most turns without a wedge.

This year I contemplated WHY do I even own a snowboard.  It hurts.  It scares me and I need to help the boys get on and off the lift more than I need to learn how to snowboard.  BUT, when we were able to go as a family Scott encouraged me by packing just my snowboard and I actually improved.  I had no choice.  I've had it for ten years, but never ridden enough to improve.  However, this year I'm figuring it out and it has been really fun!  Watch out X-Games for Moms Master's Division.

One of my favorite views.

Gorgeous view above the clouds.

If you go on a Saturday it's pretty much a mad house.

Me and part of my posse!

My friend Katie and her son Eli.
