Abracadabra....POOF - Zip Line!

Scott woke up one day and decided to put his ideas into action.  He built an awesome zip line and pretty much cemented his title for Coolest Dad Ever.   Working on it together was pretty fun.

Trevor helped with the drill on the platform.  His smile was uncontainable.  I shall not forget it!

Sadly, our neighbors are moving, but they got to come check it out before they left.

The auger from Home Depot helped, too.

It was right where we had some big paper birch trees a few years ago.  The stumps were still in the ground, so there was some digging and cutting and sweating to do without the fancy machine.

I just LOVE those knobby knees pitchin' in!

The boys learned about levers.

They learned about our safety rules.
They learned about how to brakes on a zip line.  Or the absence thereof.

So, here it is in action.

We've also spent time down by the river playing Sink The Boat which is where you throw a stick (boat) upriver and try to hit it with rocks as it floats by.  Good game year round.

We've been soaking in the gorgeousness of summertime here:
Down river from home.

And here just south of Kuna where the PLAGUE is.  I had read this story  about the plague found in ground squirrels south of Boise with precautions for people who have dogs.  And I immediately dismissed it because we never go there and we don't have dogs.  Silly me.

With cousins and new friends.

And what did the kids want to do?  Play around ground squirrel holes.  YIKES.

New hats.  I am overcome with the cuteness!
