Catch up

I didn't get up once last night to tend to a baby! So, I'm ready to do some serious catch up on the blog. Friends and Family from afar--- here's what we've been up to....

Lot's of bike riding. Trevor rode his balance bike all summer, learned to ride a two wheeler without training wheels and I loved riding the hills with Scott. Scott raced 64 miles over 3 mountains. Joel did not feel left out and is as speedy and daring as you can be down the driveway on a scooter bike.

Makayla told Trevor to pose like this for a photo. That is definitely something I would have done at 6 years old.

Trevor took to water like a worm takes to dirt. He spent some time with his head down at Payette Lake and Roaring Springs this summer. Thank you, Blue Goggles, for making swimming so much fun!

Poppa joined us at the beach when Scott did his race and you should have seen him with his arms completely full of beach apparatuses (alligators, noodles, life jackets, pails, shovels, towels, boats, etc, etc.) Love makes you do silly things and Larry sure does love those boys.

We made sand angels.

We joined Granny K and Grandpa and the Huffman family at a nostalgic camp site. It wasn't easy keeping Joel away from the fire, sloping hill and lake. I wouldn't call it a relaxing vacation, but totally worth it.

Another "totally worth it" shot in the rain.

Granny K and Grandpa took us to the Western Idaho Fair on the first day and treated us to some good, dirty, dusty fun.

And treated us to some screams via this crazy ride. We realized we were the first to ride it and possibly the first customers for the new operators. That's not really a good feeling. We did survive.

We all sent my parents up in a balloon as a gift for my mom's retirement earlier this year. I happened to hear it fly over our neighborhood and got this great picture!

Scott took Trevor on an overnight "Man Camp" on the North Shore of Payette Lake. Joel and I stayed in McCall with Larry in the coziness of his home. Well, it wasn't long before the Wieber Family just happened to show up at the camp site (they are always following us around). I had the pleasure of joining them for a wonderful visit. And then go back to a warm cushy bed sans mosquitos.

Another part of "Man Camp." Doesn't it look like fun?

Hands-in-Pockets says it all.

We spent a few days in Oregon, too. Here's Joel's favorite part of that big airplane museum over there.

Trevor's favorite shark plane.

I have a strange fascination with Sacajewa, Lewis & Clark. Strange because I'm not embarrased to post this picture.

Sam, Candra, and Belle. Sweet friends kind enough to invite us to spend time at their family cabin. If Belle married one of our boys her name would be Belle Swan.

We took a little hike up this super steep sandy hill. Just to run down it of course.

And for this amazing view.

These guys are friends from way back.

This is a nice way to get warm.

The boys caught crabs. Sam cooked them for us that night. Yum!

The wife got tickled.

The wife knows she'll have tickle revenge very soon.

Trevor had a blast with his friends Kelton and Sawyer. None of them could remember each other's names. They called him Travis and Trevor was running through the house yelling, "Hey, Big One" or "Little One." And names just didn't matter to them.

A visit to the shark tank at the Oregon Coast Aquarium had this boy mesmerized.

GREAT Grandma came by for a visit. Emphasis on the GREAT.

The rug is now used as a football field.
From fall 2010

Trevor gets very competitive, fast, and serious about touchdowns and tackling.
From fall 2010

Here's a new ramp that Trevor's been enjoying this summer. It's evidence that I've gone completely out of my mind. Joel wants his fair share of turns on it, too. Although he tries to push my hands off his little bike, I insist on keeping him upright with a good grip.
