Cross Country

Trevor and Joel participated in Cross Country this fall.  For ten weeks they meet twice a week and ran with kids their age relative to the race distance of a 1K.

Running outside is just good stuff.  And we had such a beautiful fall!

There are two meets for the season.  Here is a video of the last one in Boise.  Trevor, the boy who very much enjoys good conversation and new friends, took the opportunity to do such....during the race.  When I asked him afterward what he was talking to the girl about, he said, "Uh.. everything."  Ha!  Funny boy.  He is a great runner and when he wants to run he will, but he isn't always full of motivation.
Joel, on the other hand, has a fast pace and seemingly competitive spirit-- always wanting to keep up with those much older than him.

If you took both boys and ran them up and down the "camel's back" to really give them a good work out, they would probably be a wee bit whiny, but only until a game of tag starts, then they suddenly forget that they are tired.  So, remembering they are little, we try to keep the fun in running.
