Beach time and La Jolla

I have several friends who have moved inland from the coast.  And one sister who has moved to the coast from this landlocked state.  And, even though the water and all of its lurking creatures freak me out a bit, I can understand how hard it would be to leave a beautiful place like this.  It's peaceful, pretty, and so much fun.   Trevor spent the first evening gathering a huge stack of kelp-- just 'cause.   We found mussels and seashells and built sand castles.  We got sandy and cold and laughed.  It was a good time.

Trevor's enthusiasm for the water exceeds his ability to stay warm-- even in a wetsuit.  So we needed to bury him in the sand and warm him up a couple of times. There still might be some chattering going on here.

Joel doesn't even need to get in the water to be cold... even with a wetsuit.  No matter... we still had fun digging and burying things.

Joel the mermaid.  : )  Can't you just hear him laughing?

The hotel had boogie boards we could use for free.  Trevor got to taste the ocean a bit.
