Dialogues

We have some interesting conversations around here with Trevor. I noticed that he is starting to say more "K" sounds and has pretty much stopped referring to himself in 3rd person "Treber" and started saying "I."
He loves to talk to people and when he plays on his own he will create his own two-sided conversations that are sometimes polite and sometimes just full of sharing banter and bossiness.

Here's what we talked about while I worked on the computer and Trevor sat next to me with pen and paper.

Me: Can you draw me a chicken please?
Trevor: uh, Sure.. just a hamburger for you. What kind of hamburger?
Oatmeal hambgurger? Oatmeal? Or some raisins.
Me: Sure.
Trevor: Sure. I just draw Jericho. Want a draw with this? You just hold on the handle and you just draw. W. X. Y. Z! Looka I draw! Eyes. Eyes!

One of the highlights of any day is to get to wake him up. He is usually so very sweet and this morning was no exception. I went in rubbed his back and he rubbed mine back.
Trevor: (Giving me one of the two toy bikes he likes to go to sleep with.)
Let's go for a ride.
Me: Okay. Guess what! We get to go to church today!
Trevor: (Smiles and stretches and then gets straightens up.) Mommy, I'm going to sit next to Holland and Mary. OKAY? (This was not really a question, but a debriefing.) Mom, I just wanna hang out with my friends.

From his birth, I have felt the need to pray for him and his friends through his lifetime--- no wonder! He is a social kind of guy. We are so grateful for how many friends God has put in his life. And here is a picture of one of his smallest and best friends, Joel. Joel's enthusiasm is just uncontainable.
Tonight he got to spend some time with Daddy on the greenbelt. Fortunate for all of us Scott is the best at planning and executing terrific adventures at a moments notice. My life would be so dull without him. Scott let me sleep while he loaded Trevor in the Chariot trailer with snacks, drinks, disaster gear and a 2-wheeler with training wheels to Willow Lane Park a couple of miles up river. Scott helped Trevor ride half-way down a couple of jumps and play on the playground and come back happy, filthy and refreshed. Yep. Filthy and refreshed do go-together like that for boys.

Keri, could you please tell Trevor that I would like an oatmeal hamburger with raisins. Please. Especially if it is the kind that looks like a cookie. :) I am so glad that Trevor is so advanced in his verbal communication skills. He is a very smarty and witty boy. We are lucky to understand what goes on in that cute little head of his! Thanks for sharing. Hope to see you soon. All our love.
