Isn't this little guy cute?!!! I am getting a I saw him while sitting with Trevor at his little table in our front room. He blends in really well with the tree and is quite small. Maybe he's a youngster.
He slept in this tree all day yesterday, left, and is back today. I hope he can stay for a long time. We're hoping he gets big enough to feast on the house-nibbling, hammock-destroying squirrels.

Hey, What a 'hoot" having that owl in your tree. It looks like a young Great Horned Owl, but I'm only guessing. Is he keeping you awake at night with his hooting? I'll bet those pesky squirrels will give him a wide birth!

OK so we're looking at the bird book, and we think this is a western screech owl, hand down! Great pic.
