Fashion and Fun

I had a hankering a few months ago to dive deep into some handiwork-- something which I have absolutely no time and/or patience to do. That guilty admission brings me to the gem below. When my kind and generous father-in-law, Larry, heard what I wanted to do, he brought down a full basket of knitting yarn, patterns, and needles to contribute to my dreams of creating something wonderful. Scott's mom knitted some. I've seen a sweater she made and it was detailed. Something that looks impossible. I really wish I could have met her.
Anyway, one of my favorite item in this basket was a pattern book for hats and masks! You can click on the picture for a better look. Some of these patterns from 1975 are kind of nice for wearing and some are kind of nice for laughing.

Un-prompted, Trevor asked, "Mommy can you make one of those for me?" He wants full face knit with the red ball on top.

If that full-mask guy went to rob a bank with that puff ball on top, I'd have a real hard time not laughing when he said, "This is a stick-up!"
